Building on the technical expertise and feedback generated by the  ARRIFLEX D-21, ARRI has launched the ALEXA system: a new generation of digital motion picture cameras. With unsurpassed sensitivity and dynamic range, ALEXA takes digital acquisition to the next level by capturing incredible amounts of both highlight and shadow detail, even in low light conditions. By recording Apple ProRes encoded images onto on-board SxS cards, ALEXA offers Shoot > Edit features that make full quality rushes instantly available for editing, even on set.  

In order to cater for any type of digital production, ARRI Rental also carries an impressive range of cameras from other leading manufacturers. These include Sony’s F35 and EX3 models; the Phantom camera for high speed digital cinematography; the Iconix HD camera for cramped situations; and the Canon 7D for DSLR imaging. Recording options include HDCAM SR on the Sony SRW-1, as well as on-board file-based devices such as the Codex Portable.

MacBook Pro computers and data wrangling stations allow productions to take full advantage of ALEXA’s Shoot > Edit workflows, facilitating on-set editing, grading and dailies processing, as well as a smoother transition into postproduction.
